Mascot
This is Bee! They are the face of the app and a guide for children to look up to. Bee helps keep the fun element for the children. They are also a foundation of friendliness that parents would look up to and trust.
The six costumes below are supposed to be an incentive for children to "buy" with the fake money they can only obtain through the app. Why those specific costumes? I asked all of my friends and little sister what they wanted to do when they grew up as a kid. These are some of the answers I got and I think it captures a small essence of what it means to be a kid.
Problem Statement
Beelingual After School Language Program is a comprehensive language learning experience for elementary students. In order to promote language proficiency, global awareness, and lifetime friendships, it provides a wide variety of languages, interesting and interactive sessions, and a thorough cultural immersion.
I created a website for parents to get informed and ultimately sign up for the program.

Website & App Design Case Study
It was crucial to make it as user friendly as I could. This step was very important to layout and get in the parents' shoes. How much information should it be displayed? What would parents love to see? All of these questions were the foundation of this step that lead me to a more conservative website which I think worked nicely considering my audience.

I wanted to create something fun but still have the foundation of a stable learning program. The shape of the bee represents communication and having a conversation without specifying a language.
The name being BeeLingual also plays a strong idea of the playfulness of words
Logos
The biggest problem to solve for this website is making it professional for the parents but still having the fun elements that the mascot has. I included some puns and some bee elements to keep that innocent silly feel while still looking grounded and reliable which is why the website is more conventional.
I encourage to look through the website and try to "sign" up for a class!
Website
Process
A big guidance to this project is thanks to my little sister who was part of my audience. I would invite her and her friends and test all of our mascots to see which one they believe is the most friendly. Surprisingly the third one was chosen but when applied to a website we noticed a lot less engagement with the outlined bee which made me ultimately choose the no outlined bee. No regrets!
The app was one of the most fun aspects of the project. It dealt a lot more with the mascot and provided a sense of innocence and silliness a kid would particularly enjoy.
The app helps the child practice at home the language they would be learning at school and to incentivize them, I created the costumes for the mascot for the children to have the motivation to study and gain more honey currency to purchase their desired skin.
App
The flow of the app was very complex because of the many utilities I wanted to have while still keep it simple enough for children. I tried using very general language and relied a lot on icons to get the messages across the activities.

Small Shoutout to my teammate and friend who helped me create this amazing fictional class, Sofia Jimenez.
